Wow when I finally get some anons you guys go for it. Okay let’s do this.

Disclaimer: there is literally no way for me to write down EVERY reason Aaron loves Robert but I will give some of my main contenders.

Robert’s Confidence – from the moment these two lock eyes over a car they’ve both tried to intimidate the other. But Mr Sugden oozes confidence in a way that Aaron admires. The way Robert makes decisions, goes for what he wants, doesn’t make apologies. That’s attractive and it’s also a bit like Aaron wishes he was. Robert has helped make Aaron more confident over their years, just like Aaron has softened some of Robert’s edges. And a man who knows what he wants and what he wants is you? Damn.

Robert’s Intelligence – He’s smart. Book smart. Street Smart. It’s hot.

Robert’s Unwavering For Aaron – Yes they started as an affair. But Robert has never made a secret of his want for Aaron. First sexually and then in his love for him. He may not have admitted what he felt 100% but he was always there when Aaron came back his way. He always pursued. He ALWAYS stood there with that smirk on his face when Aaron threw shit at him because he wasn’t going to be scared off. He’s never been scared off. Even when Rob took his ring off because he said “he couldn’t make Aaron happy” it was a bluff, because he’d tried everything to make Aaron see. But he’s always told Aaron since they got together officially that Aaron is who he wants. He might mess up. He might do a lot of things but his love for Aaron is at the basis of all his decision. Good ones and bad ones.

Also being wanted like that. That’s hard not to love.

Robert makes Aaron laugh – Look Aaron is a grumpy git and usually it took the ever laughing jokester that was Adam to get him to loosen up. But the teasing, sarcastic and affectionate nature of their relationship makes Aaron glow. I love when these two get to play off of each other like that and I’m hopeful we get more of their hilarious hi jinx in the future. And soon!

Robert is a natural caregiver – Excuse me? What did you say? Yeah that’s right. Robert needs to take care of the people he loves. As simple as making dinner and as complicated as locking a teenager in the trunk of his car. And Aaron lets him, which is huge for both of them. But Aaron FEELS cared for by Robert, and that is fucking beautiful.

Robert Sees Aaron – Robert has seen every messed up, dark, scary, insecure, beautiful, intelligent part of Aaron and loves it all. All of it. Robert makes Aaron feel accepted just the way he is. Just like Robert feels able to be himself with Aaron. It’s not a simple thing, even though some people make it out to be. I can name maybe 4 people I can be 100% authentic with and none of them have the ass that Robert Sugden has.

Honourable Mentions: His hands, the way he dresses, how he’s a bit of a geek, how affectionate he is, how soft he is when it’s just the two of them, the way he’s put up with a lot of outside influences to be with Aaron (the Dingles), how hard he keeps trying to be better.

Please note I did not mention all all his physical attributes because this was already a novel.
