So…um…I guess I have an opinion now that my dash is quiet. Calm. Full of random American fandom stuff.
Um…I’m kind of nervous to give this opinion but here I go.
Guilt. Robert is feeling extreme guilt. Over the past year, he has grown and has started thinking about past actions and reactions to events. His old guilts are coming back to light. The guilt he had hidden deep inside his soul and hoped would never come out. Old guilt. New guilt. He is feeling guilty about everything.
What does this mean? Well…since Robert has grown instead of hiding that guilt again he is reacting to it. Trying to fix it. Trying to fix everything around him. Being super hard on himself. Feeling like a failure. A loser.
I sense Jack’s voice is ringing through his head right now. Maybe Diane’s voice. People who have looked down at him.
Robert is feeling guilty about The Whites, about Seb’s future, about Lachlan killing people for months when in January he could have stopped it. Not fully believing Liv. He feels guilty that Aaron has to deal with him and his guilt. He feels guilt STILL that Aaron has to deal with Seb (which we know that Aaron loves Seb…as he has said many times and has shown us…many times).
That guilt does weird things to a person.
Get upset with himself. Gets upset with others. Overcompensates. Tries to overplease or hides away. Tries to figure things out on his own to protect the ones he loves (Aaron, Liv, and Seb for instance). Throws himself into things overzealously(wedding planning for instance). Stressing himself out so much that his body makes him slow down?
That’s where Robert is right now.
Stressed. Feeling Guilty. Scared.
It’s interesting. The show isn’t blatantly telling us all this (I think they are attempting to treat viewers like they are smarter than that) but they are showing us a lot. Knowing Roberts past and what glo up he has had over the year…this all fits. I’m interested.
I know Robert loves Aaron. Aaron loves Robert. Liv loves both of them. Seb loves all of them and mostly just wants to get fed. 😉 *Choo Choo*
Also, Robert came back to Emmerdale with the Whites, he has to see them out too.
I don’t know what the future holds but I know Robert and Aaron will be fine. Full of drama (they are a super couple) but a lot of love and laughs too. That’s good enough for me.
Other Thoughts
– Mike Parr hates his job. He is done. *snort*
– Don’t let people upset you because right now its fun for some to get people upset. Don’t fall for it. Move forward. Not back. Towards the light people. Towards the light.
– Some Vanity fans…in my opinion aren’t really Vanity fans. Calling Robron fans the c-word and creating fake spoilers to upset the already upset isn’t cool. Anti-Robron/Robert people hiding behind the Vanity ship…is ruining the ship. Full disclosure here. Not a Vanity fan but I respect the fans who like them and are respectful to other ships. I bow my head out of respect to them.
-Be kind to each other. None of us agree with each other but we can come together in our love for Robron.
I’ve been enjoying the week. I only see good things in the future. So…yeah. That’s my opinion. It’s what I see. *shug*

There was a point at which Aaron Dingle couldn’t picture a future for himself. But this morning, he sat there and fed his son porridge while making train noises, and admitted that he sees himself taking that little boy for crappy movies and comforting him over his first heartbreak and teaching him how to drive.
He has all these plans for a life with a husband he never expected to meet, a son he never expected to have, and a sister he never thought he’d find again because now, he can’t stop thinking about the future.
TINA. YES. THIS IS IT. This is Seb’s first word. I won’t accept anything else. He’ll say it first pointing at Aaron and Robert will laugh and laugh until it’s his turn to be called an idiot. I NEED THIS.
————– Seb sits in his high chair waiting for his breakfast. His eyes bounce back and forth between his two dads as they stumble around the kitchen. It had taken a long time to wake them up this morning, but eventually his cries had done the job. He just doesn’t understand why adults take so long to drag themselves out of bed. Wake up. Get up. How can it be any easier?
Daddy Aaron seems especially grumpy and disheveled this morning. He’s standing in the middle of the kitchen glaring down at the burnt toast in his hand and looking like thunder clouds on a rainy day. Then Aaron shrugs and starts scraping away at the black bread in his hand with a knife. Seb watches as he smears piles of butter on top of the very crispy bread and takes a large bite.
Daddy Robert’s face isn’t quite as grumpy as Daddy Aaron’s, but he still wrinkles his face up at the loud crunch the toast makes. “Are you really going to eat that? It’s burnt!”
Seb isn’t sure why Daddy Robert cares. He isn’t the one eating the toast, is he?
Aaron looks over at Robert and licks a spot of butter from his index finger. “It’s toast, Robert! Toast by definition is slightly burnt bread.”
Robert grabs a small jar of baby food from the kitchen counter and sits down in front of Seb’s high chair. Finally! Food is on the way. But instead of opening Seb’s breakfast straight away, Daddy R rubs his hand across his eyes and continues talking. “Slightly being the word, Aaron. That looks like it’s been incinerated. It’s disgusting!”
Seb looks closer at the jar his dad holds and opens his mouth wide in preparation. Peaches are his favorite! His dads may be having a bad morning, but his is looking pretty good! He smacks his palms against the top of his high chair in excitement.
Aaron smiles at Seb before turning back to Robert. “I put butter on it! It’s fine. It’s just toast.” Brown flecks fall onto the front of his jumper as he takes another large bite.
Seb sends his best glare at Daddy Robert. He hasn’t even tried to open the peaches yet! Why does Daddy Aaron get to eat and he can’t? He bangs his hands down harder and screeches a little. Maybe that will get him some attention!
It does. Daddy R finally pries the lid from the peaches, and Seb opens his mouth wide again. Then…..
Daddy R shakes his head and glances back over at Daddy Aaron. “Butter covers the burn, but it’s still there. Idiot.”
Exactly. Idiots, the both of them. Seb is hungry! “Idi!” Seb said.
Both of his dads swing their heads around to him at the same time. They do that all the time, move together like they were one person. Seb always wonders how they manage it.
Daddy R says, “Did he just say idiot?” He leans closer to Seb. “Seb, did you just say “idiot”?
Why does Daddy Robert sound so surprised? He said it first. And Seb has reason to call them that. He needs feeding! Maybe Daddy Aaron will understand.
Seb turns to look at his toast eating dad. Aaron is standing still with his toast halfway to his face and his mouth hanging open. Seb points at him and says again, “Idi.”
Aaron lowers his toast down to the counter. “Seb just called me an idiot.” He mouth still hasn’t closed all the way, and he’s looking at Seb like he has just done something amazing. Which is crazy, really. Daddy Robert calls Daddy Aaron that all the time. What’s the big deal?
“Our boy’s a genius, Aaron.” Then Robert laughs. And Aaron laughs. So Seb starts laughing, too. Why not? His dads have lost their minds.
I know you have your “I Hate Robert Sugden” glasses on so no matter what I say, you won’t believe it.
As several have so eloquently put it:

Like, utterly and completely stressed.
PLUS *gasp* he was kidnapped, held at gunpoint, had his head smashed, learned his former stepson killed his ex-wife and ex-father in law, was nearly murdered alongside Liv, chased after Lachlan and Belle, HIT Belle with his car, found out that his son’s mother is missing and Lachlan is playing Russian roulette with her whereabouts, AND
BLAMES HIMSELF FOR IT ALL.
Also, he grew up having lost two mothers and had a shit relationship with his father. He wants better for his son and has said so repeatedly that having Rebecca in Seb’s life is utterly important to him.
So I mean. Yeah. He’s going to be snippy and bitchy. He was snippy and bitchy to the following people today:
Belle
Doug
Liv
Aaron
The police officer on the phone
Diane.
He doesn’t think he deserves the support. His anxiousness is through the roof. He’s not eating or sleeping. He’s pushing himself and pushing the villagers away.
Aaron knows Robert more than anyone. He knows that Rob pushes people away and self destructs when he’s stressed/anxious/heartbroken/terrified.
Besides, Aaron wasn’t pissed or all, “how DARE you SPEAK to ME that WAY”. He went to the pub and told his mom and Paddy he was worried about Robert because

(Hey, also…(using your words) remember when Aaron verbally abused Robert during the Katie storyline? Or when Gordon came back? Or all the drama post-Gordon. Or maybe right before they broke up?
