The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.

So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.

This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.

That’s not sad, that’s awesome.

*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing

if you can’t go through your dashboard without stressing out because you can’t unfollow several people cause youre scared of them, youre under no obligation to keep sucking up to them, just leave, just go lol they can’t do shit. i know its scary but like.. what are they gonna do, call you out? and for what, because they can’t take rejection? whos the weak one here.  find pleasant people. sometimes if youre dashboard is just drama maybe you can just follow aesthetic only blogs. its kind of common sense but people really get scared to be independent on here. its not wrong to have low followers and having decent people on your dash, like its fine, and if someone gives you bad vibes you dont have to deal with it.

Aaron always loved kids for a whole host of reasons. There’s the obvious, they have little to no malice in them, except Leo after he builds a Lego tower and crushes it like he’s Godzilla. They simply exist in the world hopefully ignorant of the trials and hardship that go on around them and it makes them brilliant. What would you do if you suddenly became a flying ant for the day? Noah asked him once while they were eating cereal before Noah had to go to school. And even if they do know hardship, they rise above. Just watching Debbie’s Sarah is proof of that.

So, Aaron comes to Seb with eyes wide open. Does he entirely forget the circumstances of him the first time he holds him? No, but his wailing cries stop and he smiles with his scrunched-up baby face, and Aaron loves kids. They sit, and they cuddle, and Robert gets his work done, blonde hair a little less mad and not being pulled out between the baby changing table and printed out spreadsheets. When Seb stops and starts crying as Aaron tries to hand him back, Aaron almost loses it. This tiny mischief maker is having him on. Plain and simple. He isn’t unhappy about it, he’s genuinely amused by this small terror.  A Daddy’s boy, huh?

Amanda, I hope you are having a lovely day. I always enjoy your theories so tell me about how you envision the Lachlan showdown will take shape? Do you think it will be a showdown with Robert? Do you see Rebecca escaping then somehow not remembering everything? I feel like Belle will discover that page he tore out from Rebecca’s memory book. Not sure what she will do with it because thus far Lachlan has been good at manipulating everyone.
