i-remember-there-was-mist:

I have a challenge for you today:

Today, as you’re scrolling your social media and living your life, you may see somebody you’re jealous of.  You may see somebody get a gig you wish you had gotten and you may feel envious.  You may watch someone get engaged and wish it was you.  You may watch someone announce a big life event and feel worse about yourself for not achieving in the same way.  When you see that happen and you feel that twinge of envy, I want you to stop, and…

  • Be grateful for the moment you have right now in your own life.
  • Celebrate the little victories in your own day to day journey.
  • Genuinely wish this person well for their accomplishment, and silently celebrate what they’ve achieved.
  • Embrace your path as it is.

Being genuinely happy for other people’s successes is a skill, and it takes practice to push aside that initial jealousy.  It is not easy!  We forget that life is all about ebb and flow, and there’s no reason for us to hate people for success, because we too will have success in our own time.  Changing your mental habits take time, but today, I want you to try this and enjoy the positive energy you put out into the world.
