To all my followers that are writers in any capacity

I know it’s hard putting yourself out there as a writer, especially if you’re a fanfic writer. I know it’s hard dealing with the internal dread of “Will people like this?” “Are my ideas original enough?” “Will people think I’m being ‘cringy’ if I write this?”

I know it sucks.

I know it makes you want to quit.

But please never do. Never give up telling your stories just because some jackasses out there don’t have the imagination to see the creativity you put into your world, or force the limitations of realism into your fantasy.

Don’t let the closeminded many outweigh the openminded love of the few because even if they’re quiet, there’s always someone out there that wants to see that creativity you have to offer.

I struggle with this constantly and I wish I could say it goes away after a while, but just because it’s always there, doesn’t mean you have to let it rule you. You are valid and amazing, you’re learning and you’re growing and just because some people can’t embrace that creative mind of yours, doesn’t mean someone else isn’t going to come around and say: “Hey, that’s pretty cool, can I talk to you about it?” or anything along those lines.

Your ideas, original or fanworks, are wanted and worth exploring, so please don’t give up on them.

Agreed. And thank you for this post! Wonderful words, it’s always nice to give people these little reminders. :))
