Do your best. Compliment strangers. Let others merge in traffic. Be still. Sit and listen to the world around you. Appreciate and understand how rich and varied life is and how it flows around you. Text that one friend you haven’t talked to in a long time and ask how they’re doing. Write a secret in the back of a library book. Take a selfie in public of you making the absolute ugliest face you can imagine. Look in the mirror and say something you like about yourself out loud. Take the time to make yourself a nice dinner once in a while.
Realize that one day, all of this will end, and you will only exist as the memories that other people have of you.
Live your life accordingly.
“Balm of the summer night, balm of the ordinary, imperial joy and sorrow of human existence, the dreamed as well as the lived— what could be dearer than this, given the closeness of death?“ – Louise Glück
